Friends of Colby School, or FOCS, is the PTA for Colby Primary School. As a registered charity and a member of PTA-UK, we raise funds and put on events that benefit the educational and physical environment and well-being of the children and help to build the community of the school. All parents, grandparents, and carers of a child at Colby School will automatically become a member of FOCS, but it is up to them whether, or how much, they choose to be involved.
We hold regular, informal meetings either at school or in a local pub, where everyone is welcome to come along and hear about our latest fundraising ideas and events.
FOCS is a great way to get involved with the school, get to know other parents and grandparents, and make a real contribution to the school life of the children.
We appreciate that many parents work and have very busy lives and may not be able to attend meetings. We try to keep in touch with those people via email and through our Facebook page so that everyone is kept informed.
None of our events would be possible without the help and support of mums, dads, grandparents and wider family and friends, and we are always looking for more people to help in any way they can. Whether you would like to volunteer to help out at an event, make a cake, help at one of our ‘Do It Together’ days, or whether you have particular contacts or skills that could be utilised by FOCS, we would be happy to hear from you.
You can contact us through the school office, leave a message with the secretary or in our tray, find one of us in the playground, or message us through our Facebook page.
