Transport
Colby School has a rural location but is easily accessible by road from the towns of Aylsham and North Walsham and surrounding villages. Free bus transport is available to some children within catchment which picks up in villages surrounding Colby and drops outside the school gate.
Bus
A bus travels from Felmingham, via Suffield, Colby and Banningham each day. Children age 5-8 years, living more than two miles from the school, or over 8 years old living more than three miles from school, and within the school catchment area, may qualify for free transport to school. Parents can either give their children/children money to pay the bus driver, or prepay the bus company. More information can be obtained from the school secretary or the County Transport Office.
Bicycle
Parents sending their child to school by bicycle should ensure that their bike is in good working order and that the child is a competent road user. Bikes can be left inside the school gate - children should press the buzzer at the gate to be let in.
Car
Parking for Colby School is on the lay-by off the B1145, adjacent to the playing field. Parents/carers should park on the lay-by and walk down the path on the playing field to Bridge Road to drop their children off at the playground gate.
Key Stage 2 parents/carers may prefer to watch their children enter the playing field area and allow them to walk down the path unsupervised. A member of staff will cross children over Bridge Road.
Please note, the lay-by is a public highway not school property.
Children should be collected from the playground gates at the end of the school day.
